India's Singareni Collieries Records New Highs in Coal Output, Dispatches

 

 

March 3, 2017 - India's Singareni Collieries Company Limited has set a new record with coal production of 58.7 lakh tonnes and highest dispatches of 57 lakh tonnes in a month during February.


The mining company’s 1,200 MW power plant has also logged high plant load factor.


With this, SCCL recorded a growth of 9.31 percent in coal production against 53.7 lakh tonnes during February last year.


The dispatches were also up 26.11 per cent against the target of 45.2 lakh tonnes in February last.


SCCL dispatched 41 rakes of coal in a single day on February 28 and also the highest ever dispatch of 2.31 lakh tonnes of coal on the same day.


During the period of 11 months of the current financial year, SCCL achieved production of 541.6 lakh tonnes of coal against the target of 524.4 lakh tonnes. It surpassed the dispatches target of 523.5 lakh tonnes and achieved 543.7 lakh tonnes.

N Sridhar, CMD of SCCL, called upon the employees to continue their efforts to surpass the annual targets.


The 1,200 MW coal-fired Singareni thermal power plant at Jaipur in Telangana has recorded high plant load factor, with both units registering a new high.


The second unit of the power project performed at 100 per cent capacity (plant load factor of 100 percent) during February and set a new record for the newly commenced power projects.


The first unit achieved 90 per cent PLF in February, and both together achieved 95 percent of station PLF.


SCCL completed unit one and two during September and December respectively.

 

While both the units have produced 3,443 million units so far, 3,191 MU have been exported to PowerGrid at Gajwel.
