May 26, 2017 - The Underground Ventilation Committee (UVC) of SME has announced the 16th North American Mine Ventilation Symposium, June 17-22, 2017, at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.

The UVC seeks to provide mine ventilation engineers and technicians with the latest information and operating practices from the field, and to promote the exchange of ideas and research through this dynamic conference. 

Topics to be explored include:

• Ventilation planning

• Spontaneous combustion

• Mine dust control

• Controlled recirculation

Short courses to be offered include:

• Diesel emissions control

• Fire modeling

• Coal mine explosion prevention

• Ventilation design for deep mines
