Planning Application for Coal Mining Project Submitted in England

June 14, 2017 A planning application for a Cumbrian Metallurgical Coal Project in England, called Woodhouse Colliery, has been submitted by West Cumbria Mining to Cumbria County Council.

It was sent on Wendesday, May 31.

WCM will be hosting information sessions on June 23, 24, and 25 between 10am and 4pm in their offices at Haig.

Support or concerns about the project can also be relayed to the council online by Monday, July 10.

"This is a significant milestone for the project and the local area. We do hope that people will take up the opportunity to voice their support or concern to ensure that the Project progresses in a way which best suits the majority. We are looking forward to our open days at the end of June and hearing people’s thoughts – they have previously been overwhelmingly positive and we hope that this support is translated into supporting our planning application," said Helen Davies, West Cumbria Mining Communications Manager.
