April 20, 2018 - In Washington DC recently, marchers at the March For Science descended on the nation's capital to supposedly call for increased funding for science. But this gathering was nothing more than another rally for radical "greens" to restrict American freedoms.
CFACT was there to present real scientific facts directly to the marchers. Holding a sign that proclaimed: "Pardon my French but...FRACK the Paris Climate Deal!" CFACT's Adam Houser showed data to the marchers from President Obama's Dept. of Energy in 2016 explaining that hydraulic fracturing for natural gas (or "fracking") has reduced American CO2 emissions almost more than any country that had signed onto the Kyoto or Paris climate treaties.
Even when presented with scientific data gathered by the radical left’s self-proclaimed messiah, President Obama, however, these green activists wouldn't abandon their ideological agenda. You can watch the full video of CFACT's interactions with the marchers here.
Not far away in the State of Virginia, lawmakers are considering joining RGGI, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, to set up a carbon cap and trade scheme. David Bucarey, a student in Northern Virginia in CFACT's Collegians program, submitted formal testimony to Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality in opposition to this proposed regulation.
David eloquently explained how joining RGGI has increased electricity bills wherever the program has been adopted, such as New England and California. For a student like David, who comes from immigrant parents and is working his own way through college, higher utility and energy bills would make David's efforts to graduate from college and help his family next to impossible.
You can read David's submitted testimony here.
It is good to see the younger generation fighting back against the efforts of the Left to destroy fossil fuels and restrict freedom.
CFACT will continue to bring real science and facts directly to the other side, whether through dynamic activism on the street, or formal testimony in the halls of government.
