Bevill State Community College and Warrior Met Coal Graduate First-Ever Mining Class

August 4, 2018 - Warrior Met Coal and Bevill State Community College have teamed up to train underground coal miners, and their newest graduates are heading out of the classroom and onto the job.

In most cases, as students finish up their studies, it’s a time often referred to as finally seeing the light of day. But for 15 students finishing up four weeks of underground mine training, they’re looking forward to not seeing the sun.

Bevill State and Warrior Met Coal offer the course to prepare prospective employees for some of their high-paid entry-level positions and on Thursday they graduated their first 15-member new miner class.

Those 15 all began employment today with Warrior Met Coal in Brookwood.
