February 10, 2019 - One of the greatest loved North-East England museums will set up shop for a one-off town centre event celebrating the region’s art.

Beamish has joined forces with the management team behind Newton Aycliffe town centre to give residents a chance to see and be inspired by the works of renowned mining artist Norman Cornish.

Visiting Art: Norman Cornish works will be on view in Newton Aycliffe

Beveridge Way will host some of the museum’s collection.

There will be sketches and artwork on view while Beamish will provide easels and canvases for those who are feeling creative.

A variety of costumes will also be available to try on and view.

An £18m project, Remaking Beamish, is currently underway at the open-air museum.

The scheme includes the building of a 1950s town.

Cornish’s former home will be recreated as part of it, including the studio he donated to the museum
