SPEAKER BIO: CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” L. RUNYAN WORKED IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY SINCE BEGINNING HIS WORKING CAREER. CHRIS GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON AFTER OBTAINING A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING IN 1981 AND A MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN 1982. SINCE GRADUATION, CHRIS HAS WORKED FOR ERIKSSON ENGINEERING IN COLUMBUS, OHIO; THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION; THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; TRUMBULL CORPORATION OF PITTSBURGH, PA; AND MS CONSULTANTS, INCORPORATED OF COLUMBUS, OH.

ON JANUARY 1, 2007, CHRIS BEGAN HIS TENURE AS  PRESIDENT OF THE OHIO CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (OCA). IN THAT ROLE, CHRIS MANAGES THE ASSOCIATION’S STATEWIDE OPERATIONS INCLUDING LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY, REGULATORY AGENCY COORDINATION, AND MEMBER SERVICES OFFERINGS AND INTERACTION. THE OCA STAFF PROVIDES SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE OVER 200 CONTRACTOR MEMBERS AND 300 ASSOCIATE MEMBERS OF THE OCA.

The Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park is a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of mining, construction, agriculture, transportation, logging, and oil & gas history and equipment.   The organization currently owns 20 pieces of equipment related to these industries.   Plans are constructing a museum building and a open air area featuring mining, construction, agriculture, transportation, logging, and oil & gas equipment.  Plans are to partner with area high schools, vocational schools, colleges & universities for their mechanic, agriculture, energy operations, natural resource, machining, welding, heavy equipment and marketing programs.
