May 28, 2016 - CoalZoom.com has published a report that can be found here on the 19th Annual Induction Ceremony of the West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame that took place on May 12, 2015, at the Resort at Glade Springs, Daniels, West Virginia, in conjunction with the 2016 Spring Meeting of the West Virginia Coal Mining Institute, West Virginia Coal Association, and SME Central Appalachian Section. The Master of Ceremonies was Royce J. Watts, Secretary Treasurer, West Virginia Coal Mining Institute, who conducted the induction ceremony. The meeting took place over 3 days and was attended by over 80 with 125 attendees being at the Hall of Fame banquet. The CoalZoom.com report of the meeting includes presentations and photos. The president of the West Virginia Coal mining Institute is Doug Fala, president of SME Central Appalachian Section is Mark Luxbacher, and the president of the West Virginia Coal Association is Bill Raney. The WV Coal Hall of Fame was established in 1998 to honor those who have distinguished themselves in the coal mining industry. It is always presented annually at the Joint Spring Meeting of the West Virginia Mining Institute, West Virginia Coal Association, and SME Central Appalachian Section. |
