September 12, 2016 - The monthly publication Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange has been acquired by the publisher, Coal News, Inc., according to a joint announcement by the companies.
Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange has for thirty years been the go-to resource that operators and purchasing agents use to find the equipment and services that they need. Coal News, Inc. are publishers of the foremost online newsletter CoalZoom.com. The combined resources of the new online version of Coal Miner’s Exchange and CoalZoom.com will complement each other.
“We are delighted to become part of CoalZoom.com, who have exciting plans to digitize Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange to better serve our thousands of readers,” said Tom Foster, the recent former President of Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange, who will become a consultant to the company. “The cost of shipping our monthly print editions around the country has become prohibitive and the new digital version produced by Coal News will allow advertisers to get their message across with greater speed and more effectiveness.”
“Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange has firmly established its place in the mining industry since 1986 and we intend to build on that strong foundation to provide even greater value to our readers and advertisers. This is at a time when at last there are some positive signs in U.S. coal markets,” added Bill Reid, president Coal News, Inc. “We look forward to working with Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange advertisers in the months ahead and providing them with a superior service.”
The last printed issue of Coal and Quarry Miner’s Exchange will take place with the October 2016 issue. Thereafter, the digital issue will be published. This will be available at www.CoalandQuarry.com. Coal News, Inc., headquartered in Chesapeake, VA., founded and produced the industry’s foremost publication Coal News for ten years 2004-2014.
