February 21, 2017 - The World Coal Association (WCA) has published a new factsheet about the basic facts surrounding coal.

The factsheet looks at how coal is formed, mined and produced and information about where coal is found. The factsheet also reviews the use of coal such as in electricity generation, steel and cement production and in the transport sector. 

The fact sheet also features up-to-date data on the global coal industry, sourced from the International Energy Agency’s 2016 World Energy Outlook and BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy 2016.
