A quick note about the SME, Coal & Energy Division.

But first, a huge thank you to the current and past C&E Division sponsors, members, and supporters!  Your years of support has made a difference in the coal industry. 

The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) Annual Meeting is fast approaching in Denver, Colorado February 26 – March 1.   The Coal & Energy Division is seeking items for the annual Silent Auction.   Additionally, the Coal & Energy Division is seeking a matching sponsor(s) for the money raised by the silent auction.     If you can be of assistance by donating quality items (tickets, memorabilia, unique items, hard hats, clothing,  etc.) or being a matching sponsor, please contact Karin Harrington ( harrington@smenet.org ….also cc’d here), Coal & Energy Division liaison with SME.  Last year the Coal and Energy Division awarded over 30 college scholarships to students seeking to enter the coal industry.   SME remains the leading professional and technical society for our industry and the Coal & Energy Division is the largest supporter of college students seeking employment in the coal industry.  Our businesses have all been the beneficiary of the Coal & Energy Division’s support of college students seeking jobs in coal.   The money raised from the Auction supports the awarding of these coal-focused scholarships.   Your help is appreciated.
