This nonprofit group was formed in the 1990s to preserve the coal mining heritage of Harrison County. They have a collection of archives, machinery and memorabilia relating to the mining, agriculture and transportation fields.
The group hosts a show on their grounds at 43672 Stumptown Road, New Athens, on the weekend after Labor Day. The group will have a Spring Open House there June 3. They have many pieces of vintage equipment including two Marion 111 draglines, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, power shovels, Gradall machines, and trucks that are on display, some working in the dirt on those days. For more information, find them at Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park on Facebook.
