MSHA's New Health Resource Locator Tool
May 15, 2024 - Whether you’re a miner or a mine operator, it’s important to know where to find certain health resources, especially during emergencies.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has recently begun promoting its new Health Resource Locator for this purpose.
The tool is designed to address your unique health needs and connect you with essential healthcare services.
You can use this Locator to quickly and easily access a diverse range of health information and care resources such as medical support, specialized services and other helpful information, based on your selected location and search distance.
To go directly to the MSHA Health Resource Locator, click here.
Once you access the Locator, you’ll begin your search by entering your mine name or ID.
As an alternative, you can also provide your city, state, or ZIP code to find the available health resources within your chosen search area.
The resources that are listed include:
- NIOSH Certified B-Readers
- Black Lung Clinics
- Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists
- VA Healthcare Facilities
- Buprenorphine providers
- Drug and Alcohol Facilities
- Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Mental Health Facilities.
You can also visit MSHA’s Health Resources page for more information on the Locator’s resources. CORESafety and MSHA are committed to prioritizing miner health. We encourage you to explore the Locator and the options available in your area to help meet your specific needs as a miner.
