November 22, 2024 - We have released the November 2024 Electricity Monthly Update with data for September 2024. The following are some highlights:

• Electricity system daily peak demand hit a new 12-month high in California (CAISO) on September 5.

• Wholesale electricity prices reached a new 12-month high in the Southwest (Palo Verde).

• The average residential retail price of electricity was up 3.4% from September 2023.

• Net generation in the United States decreased 0.3% from September 2023.

• Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 2.0% compared with September 2023.

• The average residential retail price of electricity was up 3.4% from September 2023.
