January 10, 2025 - CSX is rerouting trains temporarily due to a 25-car derailment in Bremo Bluff, Virginia.

The cars were carrying coal and “left the rails at a private crossing.” According to the Customer Advisory, the Class I states there were no injuries or risk to the public. However, it is evaluating the incident to identify the cause of the derailment.

Currently, CSX is working to restore operations, but there is no timeline yet for when service will be restored. It will share updates as more information becomes available.
