June 23, 2017 - Over 32,500 international trade visitors attended the first concurrent staging of Ugol Rossii & Mining - 24th International Trade Fair for Coal Mining Technology, Preparation and Materials Handling - Nedra Rossii, 3rd International Trade Fair for Exploitation, Processing and Refining of Metals and Industrial Materials – and Safety & Health - 8th International Trade Fair for Occupational Health and Safety in the Mining Industry - in Novokuznetsk, Russia. About 600 exhibitors from 24 countries presented the entire cross-section of innovations in mining technology on more than 430,500 square feet of exhibition space. In addition to strong Russian participation and many international companies, the China, Great Britain, Poland and the Czech Republic were represented with country group exhibits.
Ugol Rossii & Mining has long been considered a leading trade fair for the sector in Russia. Held together with Nedra Rossii and Safety & Health, it gives trade visitors such as mine operators, mining engineers, exploration experts and geo-scientists added value.
Erhard Wienkamp, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf, was pleased with the results: “The organizers Messe Düsseldorf, Messe Düsseldorf Moscow and our longstanding local partner Kuzbass Fair are very satisfied with the event. Russian business is picking up again. Our exhibitors have reported very positive discussions at their stands.”
Jane Isaacs, Director General of ABMEC (Association of British Mining Equipment), agreed: “It’s a good place to meet old and new customers, friends – colleagues. The visitors were influential and of good quality.”
Themed days as well as an extensive line-up of ancillary events including workshops, seminars and international conferences rounded off the exhibitor products on display. Together, the three trade fairs and supporting events program provided an ideal networking platform for scientists, politicians and industry representatives.
Of special interest was the forum organized by VDMA (German Engineering Federation) about the future of the German-Russian partnership in mining. During the “German-Russian Dialogue” aspects of Russia’s current economic situation were discussed and mechanical engineering innovations from Germany for Russian mines were introduced. With 35 companies Germany accounted for the highest number of international exhibitors. “Across all sectors there is no other trade fair held in Russia outside of Moscow with so many participating German companies,” stated Monika Bind (VDMA Mining).
