West Virginia Grand Opening Slated

 


 

April 18, 2019 - The West Virginia Railroad Museum will be holding a Grand Opening event from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, on the second floor of the Darden Mill in Elkins.


There is an admission charge. The opening will mark the start of the season and regular hours: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.


The public is invited to participate in two new programs, a children’s activity packet and the new AFNHA Heritage Site Passport. Complimentary refreshments will be available while supplies last.


This year’s exhibit explores the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway in West Virginia, highlighting WV towns along three C&O Divisions. It also explores the economic and environmental impacts of coal mining and saw mills in West Virginia. Don’t forget the legendary John Henry!
