MINING EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS, PLEASE STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR COAL, SAYS BILL REID

January 20, 2020 - “Today, we begin the third week of our calls for help by appealing to our mining schools and students to stand up and fight for coal,“ said Bill Reid, Managing Editor, CoalZoom. “So, Penn State, WVU, Virginia Tech, University of Kentucky and all the other mining schools in the nation, please join us and fight for our beloved coal industry to help in preserving it for the next generation.

“As you all know, if what’s left of the US coal industry is to be saved, Obama’s EPA CO2 endangerment finding must be overturned quickly and we are appealing to you to help to fund our efforts to make it happen. We ask our younger mining people who will be looking for jobs to stand with us.”

It is now widely known that in order to stop the complete destruction of coal, CoalZoom has teamed up with respected industry leader, Fred Palmer, and internationally renowned scientist, Dr. Craig Idso, in the campaign “Saving US Coal” with the single goal of overturning the CO2 endangerment finding.

We are suggesting that mining universities and students proceed as follows:

1.    Appoint a coordinator in each school to bring educators’ and students’ attention to the “Saving US Coal” campaign at CoalZoom.

2.    Encourage faculty to take part and make a donation for coal.

3.    Consider making a one-time contribution of 100% of each school’s 2020 budget for donations for a single donation to “Saving US Coal”.

4.    Consider making a school donation to match student donations.

5.    Publicize “Saving US Coal” on your website and in newsletters.

The CoalZoom campaign was launched in November and already five videos have been released. The legal filing is planned for February as donations come in. The progress with “Saving US Coal” and the videos can be seen here.

“Each university serving the coal industry and mining students have a very simple choice to make,” said Reid. “Either sit and do nothing or stand and fight for our beloved industry that has helped make America great. I implore you to stand up with us and join the fight by making a donation to “Saving US Coal” before January 31. A form can be found here for your use and it’s easy to do. Please, please help now!

“Thank you!”
