MINING MEDIA, PLEASE STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR COAL

January 21, 2020 -The mining media do a fine job in reporting on what’s happening in the coal industry and today, we extend our appeal to you to stand up with us shoulder to shoulder and fight for coal,“ said Bill Reid, Managing Editor, CoalZoom. So, Coal Age, Mining People, Mining Engineering, IHS Coal, Coal International, S&P Global Platts and World Coal, please join us and fight for the American coal industry to help in preserving it for both this and the next generation.

Bill Reid

“As you all know, if what’s left of the US coal industry is to be saved, Obama’s EPA CO2 endangerment finding must be overturned quickly and we are appealing to you to help raise funds for our efforts to make it happen. We ask that you stand with us.”

It is now widely known that in order to stop the complete destruction of coal, CoalZoom has teamed up with respected industry leader, Fred Palmer, and internationally renowned scientist, Dr. Craig Idso, in the campaign “Saving US Coal” with the single goal of overturning the CO2 endangerment finding.

We are suggesting that mining media consider the following:

1.       Appoint a coordinator in each organization to bring all employees’ attention to the “Saving US Coal” campaign at CoalZoom.

2.       Publish an editorial in support of “Saving us Coal”.

3.       Encourage readers to take part and make a donation for coal.

4.       Consider making a one-time contribution of 100% of each organization’s 2020 budget for donations for a single donation to “Saving US Coal”.

5.       Continue to support “Saving US Coal” on your website, in newsletters and in articles.

6.       Cover the ongoing progress with “Saving US Coal”.

The CoalZoom campaign was launched in November and already five videos have been released. The legal filing is planned for February as donations come in. The progress with “Saving US Coal” and the videos can be seen here

“Each organization reporting on the coal industry has a very simple choice to make,” said Reid. “Either sit and do nothing or stand and fight for our beloved industry that has helped make America great. I implore you to stand up with us and join the fight by making a donation to “Saving US Coal” before January 31. A form is here for your use and it’s easy to do. Please, please help now!

“Thank you!”
