March 19, 2020 - Message from Dave Zatezalo to the WVCA as it relates to MSHA’s protocol/plan during the Covid-19 Virus emergency.

I appreciate your members’ proactive efforts in these challenging times to protect their miners while considering MSHA and other stakeholders that regularly attend their facilities. 

We at MSHA are abiding by the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America which are based on the CDC Interim Guidance for Risk Assessment and Public Health Management of Persons with Potential Coronavirus Disease 2019.  MSHA supports these approaches to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 Virus and will encourage our inspectors to participate on a voluntary basis. 

We continue to update our MSHA personnel on any new information pertaining to the virus.
