October 9, 2023 - Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias, the Bluefield Coal Show has been delighting attendees for nearly 50 years. The first Coal Shows were held in 1976 and 1977 and thereafter (except for Covid years) the show has been held every other year. The Bluefield Coal Show certainly has earned its reputation as an iconic name in the coal mining industry.

In response to numerous requests from exhibitors, the Chamber last week announced that the 25th biennial Bluefield Coal & Mining Show will be held September 9 - 12, 2025.

The Show is a vital part of the area’s rich history and connects the people in the industry to the very latest mining machinery as well as to new innovative products and services. The Bluefield Coal & Mining Show is a time for celebrating the mining industry combined with playing a very important role in connecting buyers and sellers.  

“The Show’s success is due to the hard work of the Coal & Mining Executive Committee, the hard-working volunteers, and the Chamber staff,” said Bob Ramsey of Peter’s Equipment and Coal Show Chair. “From live TV interviews taking place during the Show and circulated throughout the industry, to the networking opportunities, to live demonstrations, and to the latest technology and equipment, you will see it all at the Bluefield Coal & Mining Show.”

There is a window of opportunity in the coal industry for its suppliers and, judging by the initial requests, close to 200 exhibitors are expected in 2025. Traditionally, the event attracts around 6,000 visitors and that number may well be exceeded. No other coal gathering provides such a unique outdoor/indoor atmosphere located in the foothills of the beautiful West Virginia mountains. 

Originally, the Bluefield Coal Show was regarded as a regional coal show but with the number of exhibitors now coming from more than 25 states as well as from several countries, and attendees converging on Bluefield, WV from across the Nation, the show is fairly regarded as a national event.

Long-range plans have already begun for a magnificent Bluefield Coal Show in 2025 with the addition of several exciting innovations and features. Please mark the dates on your calendars and plan to attend the 2025 Bluefield Coal & Mining Show, which will without question be the most important event on the 2025 coal calendar!
