January 17, 2024 - 55% of U.S. Met coal exports was exported through Norfolk, VA. Top three Met coal export countries through the third quarter of 2023:
6.5 million tons to India
5.4 million tons to Brazil
4.4 million tons to China
U.S. Met coal exports were 10% more through the first three quarters of 2023 than the same time period in 2022.
Through the third quarter of 2023, roughly 50.5 million tons of Met coal has been produced, or 7% more than the same period in 2022.
