January 30, 2024 - From power generators looking for the cleanest burning coal for reliable electricity to metal makers forging the world’s strongest iron and steel, energy users around the globe seek West Virginia coal.

Last year, Mountain State coal miners sent 43.1 million tons of thermal and metallurgical coal to 52 countries around the world, making West Virginia the largest coal exporting state in the country.
