January 31, 2024 - Last week, West Virginia miners extracted, processed, and loaded 856,000 tons of the highest quality, cleanest burning thermal coal used for electric generation around the country and throughout the world.

The State of West Virginia collected about $1.3 million in severances taxes on this production for the state general revenue fund and disbursement to local and county governments.
