February 2, 2024 - Last week, West Virginia miners extracted, processed, and loaded 700,000 tons of the world’s best metallurgical coal to be used for iron, steel, and metal production around the country and throughout the world.

The State of West Virginia collected about $3.5 million in severance taxes on this production for the state general revenue fund and disbursement to local and county governments.
