February 14, 2024 -  “Maybe my voice was louder because it was impacted harder,  but everybody could be impacted like me.” Growing up, President Slevin’s family was deeply affected by his father’s workplace injury. It is powerful to hear how that experience motivates him today, as the head of our union, to fight for safer working conditions. 

“Even though the boss may yell at somebody and say ‘I need to get the job done.’ Well, I deserve to go home at night, so I need my voice to be louder,” said Slevin.
