February 23, 2024 - A typical loaded river tow has 15 coal barges.  That’s about 27,000 tons of solid fuel.  That river tow is moving the equivalent of 2 ½ 100 car unit coal trains and about 540 coal trucks.

That’s enough energy to power 2.2 million homes for an entire day or to make 20,000 tons of steel.
