March 12, 2024 - As you’re well aware, no other business or industry is impacted quite the same as the coal industry is by Government or Legislative Policies. While every election is important, the 2024 Election will be the most important ever for our industry !

Not only will we be electing a new President, but in West Virginia, we will elect a new Governor, US Senator, 2 Congressional Representatives, 2 Supreme Court Justices and all new Executive Officers i.e. Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Auditor.  The majority of State Legislators will also be on the ballot.

That’s why we are asking you today to consider a personal contribution to our Political Action Committee — West Virginians For Coal. The maximum individual campaign contribution is $2800 per election or $5600 per election cycle.

If your Company has a PAC, it may contribute up to $5,000 directly to West Virginians For Coal.

We are also asking you and your company to consider a corporate contribution to the “Coal Victory PAC” which is an “Independent Expenditure” designed to expend funds in support of our endorsed candidates.  The Coal Victory PAC will sponsor radio ads, direct mail and robo calls independently for candidates running for election.

Please help us so the coal industry will maintain its strong voice in public policy matters affecting coal and energy. All PAC contributions should be mailed to the Association Office at 200 Association Drive, Suite 160, Charleston WV 25311.

WVCA Political Action — West Virginia’s political season is underway with every candidate for public office involved in fundraising and campaigning.  The 2024 election cycle is accelerated with most races likely to be decided during the State’s Primary Election on May 14^th.  As you know, the Association manages two PACs -- West Virginians for Coal and the Coal Victory PAC. West Virginians for Coal contributes monetary contributions to candidates and the Coal Victory PAC operates as an Independent Expenditure.  Please consider a personal contribution today as we maximize the Association’s effect of the 2024 election.  Individuals may contribute up to $5000 annually to West Virginians For Coal.  Individuals may also contribute up to $2800 per candidate for the Primary Election and $2800 per candidate for the General Election for a total of $5600 per election cycle. The Coal Victory PAC relies on corporate contributions which are unlimited, to fund its independent expenditures on behalf of candidates.
