March 20, 2024 - Here is a final copy of the program for the 50th Annual WV Mining Symposium scheduled for next week -- March 26th and 27th in Charleston. Governor Justice has issued a Proclamation declaring March 25th through March 29th as "Coal Days in the Capital City" (here).

The opening session features WVCA Chairman Mike Day (Eagle Forge), Jimmy Brock (Consol Energy), Charlie Bearse (Blackhawk Mining), Michelle Bloodworth (America’s Power), Ernie Thrasher (XCoal), and Emily Arthun (American Coal Council).  

Governor Jim Justice will be joined by Frank Foster as they preside over the Mountaineer Guardian Award Luncheon on March 26th to recognize and salute  the MGA winners along with the "inaugural" Governor's Milestone of Safety Awards to the Best-of-Class underground and surface mines. 

This year's Hall of Fame class includes Walt Scheller (Warrior Met), Nick Carter (Natural Resource Partners/Alliance Resources), Doug Conaway (Arch Resources), and Todd Moore (Consol Energy). The induction ceremony and dinner are set for Tuesday, Marh 26th.
