April 19, 2024 - An event in West Virginia geared towards bringing leaders in the coal industry together will be returning later this year. The Bluefield Coal Symposium will return to the Chuck Mathena Center from Aug. 12 through Aug. 14.

The event runs in conjunction with the Bluefield Coal Show which was last held in 2022 and will be held again in 2025.

The president and CEO of the Two Virginias Chamber of Commerce, Jeff Disibbio says the event will feature speakers from leaders in the coal industry from across the U.S. The theme for the event is ‘Using U.S. Coal for a Better America.’

“We began the symposium which allows for mining professional to be able to expand their knowledge and update their knowledge every two years. They can participate in this and be up to date with the newest technology and the newest advances in safety,” said Disibbio.

Three technical sessions, two dinners, and one luncheon will be held at the event. The Symposium includes top-class entertainment with special live performances during the two evenings.
