July 3, 2024 - The West Virginia Coal Association (WVCA) Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for August 8 – 10 at the Greenbrier Resort Iin Sulphur Springs, WV. Please access the online registration to register today. https://www.wvcoal.com/
For planning purposes, this year’s program will commence on the afternoon of Thursday, August 8 with a high-level discussion of policy and political issues impacting the coal industry. Governor Justice, Attorney General and Gubernatorial nominee Patrick Morrisey, Congressional Coal Caucus cochair Carol Miller and other members of Congress will participate in this afternoon Forum. National Mining Association President and CEO Rich Nolan will also address this Forum. The dress for this event will be business attire (tie optional).
The traditional “Welcoming Reception” will be held Thursday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on the Chesapeake Terrace and dinner is on your own. Please make dinner reservations in advance. The dress for the cocktail reception is summer dressy.
There are two additional Speakers' Programs scheduled for Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 beginning at 8:30 am in the Crystal Room located on the main floor of the hotel. In addition to our Thursday Forum, other confirmed speakers include PSC Chair Charlotte Lane, Energy Director Nick Preservati, DEP Secretary Harold Ward, Governor Justice’s Chief of Staff Brian Abraham, OMHST Director Frank Foster, House Speaker Roger Hanshaw, Travis Deti, Wyoming Mining, and Lyndsey Wright Woman’s Mining Coalition. Dress for the speakers’ programs is “Greenbrier casual’, golf attire is permitted.
Friday afternoon is set for family fun with golf, shooting clays, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and bowling. Exact times for some of these events will be announced. A special luncheon and program for the ladies is planned for Friday afternoon.
Our Friday Program will conclude with a reception, dinner and dancing in the Cameo Ball Room and Trellis Terrace. (Friday evening is a dressier event with sport coats for the men and cocktail dresses for the ladies.)
The Annual Membership Meeting will conclude on Saturday morning at 10:30 am with the “Chairman’s Brunch” which is sponsored by Encova Insurance.
Please note a special block of rooms at a discounted rate are being held until July 9th under a specific code which can be obtained upon registering with WVCA.
The online registration form also contains a general solicitation for event sponsors and a call for general door prizes. We are hopeful that you and your company will consider one of these opportunities towards a fun and successful meeting.
