July 23, 2024 - Ukraine's largest producer of coking coal, OJSC Pokrovske Mine Management, part of Metinvest holding, is preparing to launch a new longwall with reserves exceeding 2 million tonnes, Ukrainian media reported, citing the company's post on social media.

"The new longwall is located in the first southern panel of block No. 10, and its preparation is nearing the finish line," Metinvest Pokrovskugol said.

The extraction field is 3 kilometers in length, the seam is nearly 2 meters thick, and the longwall is 284 meters in length.

Metinvest Pokrovskugol manages the enterprises of the Pokrovske coal group of Metinvest holding.

Metinvest is a vertically integrated group of mining and metallurgical enterprises. SCM, with a 71.24% stake, and Smart Holding, with a 23.76% stake, are the principal shareholders of Metinvest B.V., and they jointly manage the company.
