August 8, 2024 - Matrix Design Group, LLC, a global leader in safety and productivity solutions for the mining and industrial sectors, is set to unveil an array of groundbreaking technologies at MINExpo 2024. Visitors to Booth #13045 in the West Hall will experience the future of mining firsthand, including innovative products and collaborations envisioning the next generation of industry advancements.
“Since its inception, Matrix has consistently offered transformative technological solutions to its customers. MINExpo offers an opportunity to reiterate our commitment to the mining industry, in particular, by showcasing innovative technologies that drive safety and productivity in mining operations,” remarked Mark Watson, President of Matrix Design Group.
“As a subsidiary of ARLP, Matrix is uniquely positioned to deliver production-ready systems that have been thoroughly vetted in mining environments. By designing, engineering, manufacturing and utilizing our systems in real-world production environments, we’ve built a track record of delivering reliable, mine-duty products to OEMs and operators across the mining industry,” added Watson.
Highlighting the event will be Matrix’s collaborative venture with Infinitum, creator of the sustainable air-core motor, to jointly develop and distribute high-efficiency, reliable, electric motors and advanced motor controllers designed specifically for the mining industry. Infinitum’s patented motor technology will replace traditional, heavy iron-core motors with a motor system that is 50% smaller and lighter, uses 66% less copper and consumes 10% less energy, and is expected to offer mining companies and equipment manufacturers a more efficient, reliable alternative.
Additionally, attendees can experience live demonstrations of the OmniPro platform, including OmniPro Vision AI, a new state-of-the-art collision avoidance system designed for surface mines. Equipped with IP67-rated cameras and advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, this highly accurate system detects and alerts operators to pedestrians, vehicles and other potential hazards in real-time. OmniPro offers a modular platform that allows for the integration of additional functionalities, some of which will also be on display.
MINExpo visitors will also get an exclusive preview of Matrix’s forthcoming, multipurpose mining network designed for Intrinsically Safe environments. This innovative network integrates fiber and coaxial communications into a single platform designed to meet stringent MSHA regulations while accommodating future technological advancements, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and safety in underground coal mining environments.
In addition to these groundbreaking technologies, Matrix will present its comprehensive portfolio of mining safety and productivity solutions, including the IntelliZone proximity detection system, the M5 machine-mounted methane monitor, integrated network solutions and a full line of mining equipment.
