West Virginia Inaugural Events Invitation; WVCA Bundling Individual Contributions
December 3, 2024 - Below is a message from Chris Hamilton, President, West Virginia Coal Association:
Many of you have already received an invitation to participate in Governor-elect Patrick Morrisey's transition and Inauguration activities. The purpose of this communication is to request that we join together through the Association to bundle our contributions on behalf of the industry.
Governor-elect Morrisey's Inauguration Team is planning to host the official Inauguration Ceremony on Monday, January 13th at the State Capital and the Inaugural Ball that evening at the Charleston Coliseum and Conference Center.
The Association's Government Affairs Committee, comprised of a majority of Companies who also serve on our Board of Directors, is recommending that we join together at the "Golden Horseshoe" level in support of Governor Morrisey for his special day.
Attached for your review is a copy of the official Inauguration invitation which delineates the different levels of participation and pricing.
Our goal is for the Association to contribute at the "Golden Horseshoe" level of $100,000 and hope you will agree with and support this proposal with a corporate contribution to demonstrate our support and confidence in Governor Morrisey as he takes over the helm of West Virginia.
To reach our goal, we ask all member companies (general and associate alike) to consider contributing $5.000 towards this event. Each company will receive tickets for the Inauguration Ball and have your Company name engraved on a special "congratulatory gift" for Governor Morrisey.
We ask that you make your corporate check out to "West Virginia Wins Inaugural Committee, Inc." and send it to WVCA at 200 Association Drive, Suite 160, Charleston WV 25311 by December 20, 2024. Please reply to this email and let us know at your earliest opportunity if you plan to make the requested contribution which is not tax deductible.
Team Morrisey is also making a funding request towards their transition efforts through the newly created 501 C4 "WVProsperityGroup" (aka the transition account) set up for that purpose. Corporate contributions are unlimited. We also ask that you let us know if you plan to contribute to the “transition” account.
