January 24, 2025 - We have released the January 2025 Electricity Monthly Update with data for November 2024. The following are some highlights: 

• Electricity system daily peak demand remained on the lower half of the 12-month range on all selected electricity systems during November.

• New 12-month wholesale natural gas price lows were set in the mid-Atlantic (Tetco M-3), Midwest (Chicago Citygates), and Louisiana (Henry Hub).

• Total U.S. coal stockpiles increased by 2.5% to 131 million tons compared with the previous month.

We have released the January 2025 Electric Power Monthly with data for November 2024. The following are some highlights:

• Net generation in the United States increased 1.1% from November 2023.

• Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 2.8% compared with November 2023.

• The average residential retail price of electricity was up 5.1% from November 2023.
