FBI Offers $10,000 Reward for Information on West Virginia Power Plant Intrusion

 

 

 

February 13, 2025 - Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual involved in an unauthorized entry at the John Amos power plant in Winfield, West Virginia late last year. The FBI Pittsburgh’s Charleston Resident Agency is leading the investigation into the incident, which took place on December 30, 2023, between 9:00 p.m. and 9:31 p.m.

According to officials, an unidentified suspect gained access to the interior of the power plant, raising security concerns. Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect’s vehicle, described as a late 1990s to early 2000s Jeep Cherokee.

Investigators have released a description of the individual:

  • White male
  • Late 20s to early 30s
  • Approximately 5'9" to 5'10"
  • Weighing between 165-170 pounds

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect involved in this crime.
