Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum to Host Free West Virginia Day Celebration

 

 

June 20, 2025The Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum will host a West Virginia Day Celebration on Friday, June 20, 2025, offering a day of family-friendly fun, education, and entertainment. The free event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at New River Park, located at 513 Ewart Avenue.

The celebration will showcase the region’s rich culture and history with live music from local bluegrass family band “Strings of Green,” a variety of vendors, and refreshments for guests to enjoy. Both the Exhibition Mine and Youth Museum will be open for tours throughout the day, with discounted admission rates available.

Special programming includes:

  • 11:00 a.m. – “Hoot & Holler: WV Owls” presented by the Three Rivers Avian Center

  • 1:00 p.m. – A wildlife presentation by recently retired National Park Ranger Jodi French, focusing on animals native to the New River Gorge region

Organizers invite the community to join in honoring West Virginia’s heritage with a day full of learning, music, and local pride.
