June 20, 2025 - EIA has updated the Weekly Coal Production report for the week ending June 14, 2025.

• Estimated U.S. coal production totaled about 10.6 million short tons (MMst)

• This production estimate is 2% higher than last week's estimate and 5.6% higher than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2024

• East of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 4.9 MMst

• West of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 5.7 MMst

• U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 243.3 MMst, 8.3% higher than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2024
