Cement is the backbone of modern infrastructure, supporting everything from roads and bridges to schools, hospitals, and housing.

Coal serves two essential functions in its production:

1. It provides the intense heat required to fire kilns.
2. Fly ash, a by-product from coal power, is used as a substitute for Portland cement.

With global demand projected to reach 3–4 billion tonnes by 2050, coal remains essential to meeting the world’s growing infrastructure needs.
