West Virginia Coal Association Leaders Engage in Community and Industry Events

 

 

November 21, 2025 - West Virginia Coal Association President Chris Hamilton and Vice President Jason Bostic participated in a series of events this past week highlighting the industry’s strong community ties and statewide impact.

 

On November 20, Hamilton and Bostic joined in celebrating former WVU football coach Don Nehlen in Morgantown, where Nehlen was honored with the Milan Puskar Award for Outstanding Achievement. Earlier in the day, they accompanied more than a dozen members of the Legislative Committee on Mining on an underground tour of the Leer Complex operated by Core Natural Resources. The tour was guided by Core Chairman Jimmy Brock and Vice President of Government Affairs Randy Cheetham.

 

At the invitation of Del. Phil Mallow, Hamilton also addressed the Marion County Business Association, discussing coal’s vital role in supporting jobs and economic development across the county and state. And, on November 13, Hamilton spoke at the Governor’s Energy Summit, emphasizing coal’s continuing leadership in West Virginia’s energy future.
