Hitachi Construction Machinery Invests USD 3 Million in AI Firm Rithmik Solutions to Advance Mining Analytics

January 22, 2026Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Ltd has announced a USD 3 million strategic investment in Rithmik Solutions Ltd., a Canada-based artificial intelligence company specializing in advanced data analytics for mining equipment. The investment is aimed at accelerating the development of predictive insights that help mining operations improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.

Rithmik Solutions develops AI-driven technology that converts large volumes of complex machine data into practical, actionable insights. Its platform enables mining operators to detect early signs of equipment issues, allowing maintenance teams to intervene before failures occur. The collaboration is expected to deliver measurable benefits for mining sites operating Hitachi equipment worldwide.

Simon Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas, said Rithmik Solutions’ open-platform approach and advanced analytics capabilities closely align with Hitachi’s long-term vision. He noted that the partnership supports the company’s goal of delivering solutions that directly address customer challenges while improving operational efficiency across mining fleets.

The AI technology is expected to significantly enhance Hitachi’s LANDCROS Connect Insight platform, which currently provides real-time monitoring and data analysis for mining equipment. By integrating Rithmik’s AI models, the platform will be able to identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend proactive maintenance actions earlier, improving asset health management and operational reliability.

During demonstration testing conducted between August 2024 and July 2025 at an active mine site, data from 40 dump trucks and six ultra-large hydraulic excavators was analyzed. The results confirmed the system’s ability to accurately detect early-stage anomalies. Based on these insights, LANDCROS Connect Insight will be able to recommend corrective actions that help machines operate at optimal capacity, reducing unplanned downtime and lifecycle costs.

The investment follows Hitachi Construction Machinery’s announcement that it will transition to the LANDCROS brand in April 2027. While core manufacturing and engineering operations will remain unchanged, the new brand identity emphasizes expanded solution offerings beyond machinery. Collaboration with technology specialists such as Rithmik Solutions represents a key pillar of this strategy, accelerating the adoption of advanced AI analytics across the mining sector.
