March 20, 2026 - American Iron and Steel Institute CEO to Speak at MCPA Conference, May 19 Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) which represents the interests of American steel producers, will be a keynote speaker at the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA) annual conference and expo in Roanoke, West Virginia, May 18-20, 2026.

Dempsey is expected to speak about the current state of the steel industry, including its key role in national and economic security. In December 2025, AISI reported steel shipments for 2025 were up 4.9 percent year-over-year since 2024. In 2025, some 90,953,066 net tons were shipped, compared to 86,698,917 net tons in 2024.
