UMWA Associate Member Spotlight

May 8, 2026 - Greg Bishop of Pineville, West Virginia, has dedicated his life to serving others and is our newest Associate Member featured in the Spotlight. Greg wanted to become an Associate Member because of his strong family ties to the UMWA. His father was a UMWA member, and he has other family and friends associated with the UMWA.

Greg is a veteran and is currently running for House of Delegates in Wyoming County, West Virginia with the primary election set for May 12th. Please support our friend and Brother, Greg Bishop. “I have dedicated my entire life to serving others,” said Greg.

“First, in the United States Marine Corp, where I served our country during demanding and challenging assignments, later as a State Trooper and most recently serving as a Prosecuting Attorney for Wyoming County, and I’m very honored to be an Associate Member of the United Mine Workers of America.”

Greg prides himself on fighting for values and standing up for working families. He attends local UMWA functions, most recently the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day in Nitro, West Virginia on March 30, 2026. He has worked alongside UMWA veterans in the annual cleaning of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall (The Washing of the Wall, in Washington, D.C.).

Outside of work, Brother Greg enjoys riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. Thank you, Brother Bishop, for your continued support to your community, your country and to the United Mine Workers of America.
