Irwin, PA, August 31, 2015 - Irwin Mine and Tunneling Supply, an affiliate of Irwin Car and Equipment that manufactures, distributes and sells replacement parts for customers worldwide, has purchased Saber Supply Co. of Beckley, WV. The transaction gives Irwin six fully-stocked warehouse locations to serve an expanding customer base. Irwin’s newly-formed Corporate Mining Office will handle all administrative and sales functions from Beckley. The  management team includes Bud Wotring as Senior Vice President of Mining Sales and Distribution; Dean Mooney as Director of Operations, Distribution;  Kathy Hylton as Director of International Sales, Procurement and Customer Service; Matt Stone as Manager of Supply Chain and Product Development; Amanda Farthing as Purchasing Manager; and Brittany Atilli and Les Lilly as Senior Buyers.

Irwin’s acquisition of Saber Supply is a continuation of the company’s growth in the mining equipment and industrial rail sectors over the past 18 months. Earlier this year, Irwin acquired a pair of Virginia-based companies, Mescher Manufacturing Co. and Radford Remanufacturing & Assembly, for their proprietary products and manufacturing operations. Last year, Irwin purchased Traction Motor Service for its full-service railroad motor repair capabilities, TDT for its complete lines of rock dusting equipment and belt products, and America Mine Services for its rock dust storage bins and hopper slinger duster technology.
